The lady that owns this car caught me taking this picture. Embarrasing.

http://www.high-entropy.com/doodles

'am i wrong? (to hunger)' is my primary blog.  i've had other blogs in the past, however they don't ever seem to last.

let me recap a few:
'lawn chairs in the garage' which was a blog written by gene and myself. we'd go back and forth rambling ramblings that were most likely to be rambled while sitting in lawn chairs, in the garage.

one blog was based on dictionary.com's word of the day. i'd make a quick rhyme each day with the word.  this was an attempt to not only be creative, but also learn new words. the latter just didn't happen.

i blogged about the tech world in the engadget/gizmodo style, occasionally reviewing a product or two, only to share the same fate as the other non-/hunger blogs.

in my quest to constantly add blogs to my blogging repertoire, i've shifted focus to something that i've been doing even longer and more regularly than blogging here at /hunger, taking notes. i enjoy taking notes, and i look at this personality trait as one of the few "in my favor" quarks which i posses.  at times i don't think i would have made it through the rigorous engineering curriculum if i wasn't a copious note taker.

not too long ago i was reviewing my notes with a co-worker, and they mentioned that i have some pretty crazy doodles in my notebook. to me they seemed normal, then again, i was the only person staring at them each day.

that conversation spawned a new blog idea titled 'doodles'.  a link to doodles will be placed by my list of links on the right under my cool rotating portrait in a beanie (or you can hit it here).

each doodle is found on a page of notes i took.  when i take notes, the first thing i do is write the date in the top right corner.  hence i have backdated each post on /doodles.  i'm almost done posting 2006.

balloons at bars

we hit up the lincoln tavern on saturday night. we all had a grand time.  elsie brought the balloon pump and a fresh supply of balloons, michael brought his father-in-law's drinking shirt, and gemma wore the balloon hat with pride.  i was the assistant to the balloon-er, and was forced to tie balloons till my fingers got numb.

catching raindrops

ever wonder what those city folk do when waiting for the bus? well here it is: they catch rain drops in their mouths. i think it stems from an attempt to "save water". this act may not span all cities as it very well may just be a san francisco-tree hugger type thing.

mmmm drops!

Clothes make the man

this weekend i went to paso robles, a small wine-centered town in the central california coastal location. i’ve been there many times before, but this time it was different. this time around i was treated unlike any other time i had been there. i noticed that people gave me more attention, they directed questions and requests to me instead of my parents, i was treated like a grown-up. mind you i am technically a grown up, but when i’m not at work or at some sort of mandatory dress code function i will be found in a hoodie sweatshirt, some comfy pants and adidas.

let me digress a moment. i’ve been carrying around a banana republic gift card for some time now, almost 1 ½ years. just a few weeks ago i finally got the card back to where it belonged, a banana republic! i tried on a few different ‘ameer style’ articles of clothing, mostly jackets. when i realized that banana was having a huge sale on selected items, and both items that i had identified as potential buys were not participating in the huge sale. so i moseyed on over to the sale items and found a nice black three button blazer. the blazer fit me great, and was greatly reduced in price! so i snagged that instead of the more ‘street’ jackets i had previously tried on.

i wore that blazer to paso robles, and i’m pretty certain that the lack of hoodie and presence of banana blazer made all the difference. so today i wore a shirt and tie to work, just for kicks. tomorrow i’m back to my comfortable jeans and sneaks tho.
