my friend wanted to see what kind of rockets i could muster up for a potential tattoo. after a few attempts at drawing them, he realized that permanently having a penis on his arm was not a good idea. i drew these over a year ago, which is wild to me, but the dates don't lie.

for about a decade james has had a unique version of the phrase "i love to snowboard" as his primary personal email account address. he is a professional photographer, amazing guitar player, and recently developed a rather green thumb.

i only drew one binding for the snowboard, and then used photoshop to copy&paste the second one so they would look exact. i'm not sure if i feel lazy or efficient about that.

while i decided to do the 4 icon thing for myself, i was talking to a friend online. of course he put together his own 4 icons (which i noted down).

i'm no designer, but i know designers!

one of those designers sent me a link to this 4 icon project someone ( a neato designer) did. i loved the idea so much that i immediately brainstormed what would my 4 icons be.


these were sketched on paper, scanned, vectorized in illustrator, then put together in photoshop. probably a bit of techno overkill but hey, that'd be my 5th icon.

edit:
i didn't like how that computer looked, i felt that it was outdated so i removed the tower. i think this makes things look much better.

comics

i was never into comics, or comic culture. but a friend of mine is, and he loves to write. i love to doodle. so we combined forces for 30mins the other day and this is what we came up with. it's a very rough piece of strip, but proves that we can do something.

Rocky

lately i've been doodling to music.

i'm not sure if this track is cheesy or inspiring. i'm somewhat embarrassed that i like this more than i hate it. a quote from the latest rocky movie (where he's like 50 years old) is total cheese. but i felt like writing it down when i heard it. and here's what i got.

i love hearing stallone say "not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, her, or anybody!"

maybe i'm just in need of some inspirational motivational rocky balboa can-win attitude with some redux daft punk and piano. wait. who is ever not in need of that?

first i started out listening to a heads we dance song - when the siren sound (russ chimes remix) and drew that siren/accordion thing. then a song by swimming in speakers came on, and i decided that i want to be swimming in speakers. i love audio equipment.
